We in the Middle East have a heritage of prayer, as it was the first Christians (originally from the MENA region) who initiated the practice of regularly praying for fellow believers in geographical areas other than their own. While we have come a long way from prayer request letters written on parchment, the motivation and aim remain the same: seeking God’s guidance and blessing through the faithful prayers of our brothers and sisters.
Our hope is that by bringing 'modern means to a timeless practice,' we can foster the same type of prayerful connections that, 2000 years ago, helped a small group of people overcome every challenge to fundamentally change the course of the world.
As this program grows, we aim to provide ample opportunities for global believers to pray and worship together in a digital space as we witness what God is doing ‘on the ground’ across the Middle East.

Anyone who pays attention to the news knows of the major challenges our region faces. Yet for most of those who live outside our region, the numbers and places in the headlines are just statistics and pins on a map. What is not covered in the headlines is what God is doing day by day in our region in the lives of people.
“Pray for (ME)” (Pray for the Middle East) is, in part, a response to our culture's increasing cynicism towards “thoughts and prayers” as a good and necessary response to the challenges we see in the world.
Our goal is that by helping to focus our internationally based brothers' and sisters' “thoughts and prayers,” on the everyday ministry of our region, we all will be able to see and sing praise as we see God answering our prayers.
As we all “pray in the same direction,” we can start to see better how the GOOD NEWS is conquering the bad.

Middle Eastern and North African society is built on establishing real connections with those you wish to acquaint, befriend, or even do business with. One of the goals of the "Pray for Me" project is to help people understand the uniqueness of ministry in our region by allowing them to hear from the individuals who are actually doing everyday ministry in the MENA region.
By fostering these connections digitally, we hope that when people outside our region encounter a headline, they can envision the faces of the individuals they have met through this project.
As this project matures, we aim to provide avenues to translate digital connections into physical presence by organizing trips, meetups, and other opportunities to praise God together in person.

As we approach the 2000th anniversary of “the Great Commission” in 2033, we believe that God is setting the stage for a Christian renaissance in the Middle East.
In light of this, we have set ambitious goals for the PRAY FOR (ME) project.
